DR Strings Review

What can be said about these strings? Well, I've tried ALL strings. You name them, and they have had at least a few weeks on my guitar. I like DR strings. Are they my personal favorite...maybe. They are hand-made and exude quality. These babies really sing. The think I like most about DR strings are the long life. It truly seems as if they will last you about 1 week longer than other strings while still retaining that "new" string sound. As far as playability, these strings are in a class of their own.

I think that the best way to find strings is to simply experiment. I like a string that offers long life because I tend to bend the strings a lot when I solo (I ripped off Billy Corgan's techniques pretty badly). Experiment for youself to see what string you keep returning to. In a future post I will discuss proper string windings and some interesting techniques for getting more life and brightness out of each pair.
